Stormtrooper Operations Aviation Regiment
The 1-41st Stormtrooper Operations Aviation Regiment is a special operations unit of the Imperial Navy that provides Valkerie platformed aviation support for general purpose forces and Stormtrooper special operations. Its missions have included attack, assault, and reconnaissance, and are usually conducted at night, at high speeds, low altitudes, and on short notice. The 1-41st SOAR is headquartered on Cadia. The 1-41st SOAR are also known as the "Intruders" and their motto is "Always Out Numbered, Never Out Manned".

The Valkyrie is a heavily armed airborne armoured assault carrier with VTOL capabilities, used to ferry special forces infantry units such as Storm Trooper Squads and Drop Troop Regiments such as the Elysian Drop Troops to and from combat zones. The Valkyrie is armed with a Multi-laser or Lascannon mounted beside the cockpit. The Valkyrie has two external fuel tanks, although these can be replaced with either Hellstrike missiles or Rocket pods. In addition, the craft has two door mounted Heavy Bolters for door gunners to operate. This combination of weapons allows Valkyrie pilots to stay on station once their cargo has been dropped and provide limited air-support to the troops on the ground. Valkyries carrying extra fuel are capable of carrying modified Drop Sentinel, Cyclops and Sentry Gun instead of troops.  |

In most cases, the Valkyrie, like most of the Imperium's aircraft, is piloted and operated by the Imperial Navy, and are provided in joint operations for use to the Imperial Guard on a need basis. But in some cases where the crews of a Valkyrie squadron expect to be attached for a long duration to Imperial Guard units, and inevitably, providing close air support, modifications are made to the Valkyrie. The Primary modification is reinforced armor with extra armor added to that to reduce the chance of damage and force of heavy weapon impacts. This extra weight reduces the Valkyries max flight altitude and speed, but allows the crew to use it's VTOL capabilities to the maximum potential with improved survivability. Valkyries can also be upgraded with searchlight to make it more accurate at night.

The Vendetta Heavy gunship are Valkyrie's which have been attached to Imperial Guard units and received the increased armor, and then equipped with 3 Twin-Linked Lascannons, and used as a tank hunter after dropping off any unit being transported by it. Further more, it still retains the ability to mount 2 Heavy Bolter door guns. It may also replace the 2 hardpoint mounted Twin-linked lascannons on its wings for 2 Hellfury incendiary missiles instead.
Gunfighter Squadron 3-1
The Vulture Gunship is a VTOL ship used by the Imperial Navy Manufactured on many worlds. It is armed with a Chin-mounted Heavy Bolter and various weapons mounted in pairs on 4 under-wing hardpoints. Alternatively external fuel tanks may be fitted to increase flight time. The Vulture Gunship is most often used in a support role, supplementing the Valkyrie's lack of hard-hitting fire power. A flight of Valkyrie's will often be escorted by a single Vulture Gunship which will attack the tougher targets such as tanks and AA installations to protect the more fragile Valkyries. They often remain after the Valkyries' passengers have disembarked and the transports retreated to act in a direct air support role, aiding the drop troops in tougher fire fights.
